Walk preserved Civil War earthworks and explore wartime Alexandria at this remarkably intact Union fort.
Description

About 90% of the fort's earthwork walls survive alongside an original ceremonial gate, while the Northwest Bastion has been reconstructed to its wartime condition. Inside the museum and across the grounds, exhibits focus on Alexandria’s role as an occupied Union crossroads, the capital's defensive ring, and the daily routines of soldiers and civilians. Year-round programming brings the site to life through living history activities, interpretive tours, lectures, and video screenings.
