4.4 (12)music_venue
An open-air stage set within the preserved earthworks of a Civil War Union fort.
Description

The venue sits within Fort Ward, the best-preserved site from the system of Union forts built to protect Washington, D.C. during the American Civil War. The surrounding grounds retain about 90% preserved earthwork walls alongside a restored Northwest Bastion, displaying period military engineering. Beyond the open-air stage, the fort complex includes an onsite museum with over 2,000 Civil War-era objects, continuing and changing exhibits, living history activities, and a reconstructed Officers' Hut with period furnishings.
