Description

Built in 1764 by Colonel Henry Bouquet as a redoubt of the British Fort Pitt, this landmark within Point State Park stands as the oldest building in Pittsburgh and the oldest authenticated structure west of the Allegheny mountains. Preserved by the Daughters of the American Revolution, the site invites visitors to inspect small yet fact-filled exhibits, stand on a reconstructed firing platform, and peer through the original gun loops.
