Fort Heath Park
4.7 (71)park
Perched on a coastal cliff, this quiet park offers sweeping ocean views, breezy paths, and traces of its military past.
Description

Situated on the Grovers Cliff headland in Winthrop, the site served in East Coast defense from 1899 until 1965. Named after Revolutionary War Major General William Heath, it incorporated Endicott Period coastal fortifications, World War II batteries, and a Cold War radar station before the town established it as a public park in 1992.
Today, the compact grounds feature manicured lawns, a short walking trail, and shaded seating across three sections frequented for dog walks and quiet pauses in the ocean air.
