Description

Constructed in the fall of 1861 by the 11th Massachusetts Infantry, this site occupied an important position along the Civil War Northern Defenses protecting the capital. Taking its name from the Revolutionary War landmark in Massachusetts, the park pairs open neighborhood greenery with preserved historical armament and cannon remnants, keeping its wartime origins legible and accessible.
