Fort Bend Museum
4.6 (187)museum
This Richmond museum pairs preserved 19th-century homes with hands-on exhibits exploring pioneer life and local history.
Description

Operated by the Fort Bend History Association since 1972, the site preserves regional artifacts, oral histories, and two landmark properties: the 1855 Long-Smith Cottage and the 1883 Moore Home, also known as Morton Lodge. Inside the galleries, exhibits trace area heritage alongside civil rights history. Visitors can explore the indoor collections independently or add a guided tour of the two historic homes, led by guides who walk through the period rooms and facilitate hands-on activities for kids.
