Description

Residents formed the independent Forest Glen Park District in 1929 specifically to secure recreation for their developing neighborhood, fending off annexation by a neighboring district in the process. Purchased in 1933, this parcel became the only park the fledgling board ever established. Early ambitions went beyond swing sets, including commissioned fieldhouse plans backed by federal public works funding, though citywide park consolidation in 1934 shelved the building.

The grounds remained dedicated to greenery and play equipment, undergoing a full overhaul in 1990. Tucked a block northeast of Elston Avenue, it offers no structured programming, functioning simply as an unhurried corner for everyday play.
