Description

David W. and Julia Savannah Florence built the original ranch house in 1871–72 after relocating from Van Zandt County, adding elaborate wood trim across the gallery of an otherwise simple frame structure. As the property grew to cover 730 acres by the 1890s, the home expanded alongside it, later operating as Meadow View Farm under Florence’s son Emet and daughter-in-law Perle after 1908. Today, visitors can explore the preserved site through guided tours during operating hours.
