4.8 (191)This Philadelphia stable preserves a century-old urban Black cowboy tradition through youth horsemanship and mentorship.
Description
Operating since 2004, the nonprofit serves over 250 youth annually out of its inner-city stables. The daily focus reaches well past riding technique: time spent caring for horses and other animals on site is geared toward building work ethic, discipline, and confidence, offering neighborhood young people a grounded community space. Parents frequently point to the stables as an alternative to hanging with the wrong crowd, while visiting families encounter a welcoming environment built around hands-on care.
