Daily parking fee applies ($7 on weekdays, $10 on weekends during peak tourist season). Cabins, yurts, and campsite rentals require separate fees varying by season and dwelling type.
Cypress swamps draped in Spanish moss meet quiet Chesapeake Bay beaches at this historic coastal state park.
Description

Across its 2,888 acres, the park winds through maritime forest and freshwater lagoons along 20 miles of hiking and bike trails, including paths under loblolly pines and shady southern live oaks. Along the shoreline, warm, shallow waters stay flat well out from the sand, keeping swimming and kayaking easygoing.
Overnight stays range from cabins and yurts to tent and RV setups a short walk from the bay, though campers note traffic hum from the nearby highway. Boat ramps, watercraft rentals, and an on-site ice cream shop near the visitor center fill out the waterfront amenities.
