Fifth Ward Jam Park
4.5 (16)park
An abandoned house turned sculptural stage anchors this neighborhood park celebrating the area's musical roots.
Description

Artists Dan Havel and Dean Ruck teamed with the Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Corporation, relocating an abandoned house to an empty lot to build the venue for small performances and community events. The park pays direct tribute to the Fifth Ward's musical past as the former home of Peacock Records and artists like Big Mama Thornton and T-Bone Walker. Within the JAM Recreational Complex, the grounds also feature Houston’s first solar-powered splash pad.
