This section of the park is easier to reach than the ferry terminal side, sitting close to the Bx42 bus route. It is a popular spot for bbqs, picnics, biking, and fishing, with views of the skyline that light up at night. Families frequent the small playground, and a short walk leads to a nearby shopping mall. Because the parking lot and tables with views fill up quickly, visitors often advise arriving early. A public restroom is located by the play area.
