Look for carved doorways and reclining tomb effigies, then pause beneath the cloister arcades.
🏛️ Stone Halls And Courtyard Gardens
Let the stonework set the pace at The Met Cloisters. Start with the painted Romanesque apse beneath a high timber ceiling, then look for stained glass, carved doorways and reclining tomb effigies. Save a pause for the cloister arcades, where arches frame flowering courtyards and stone fountains.
You can visit from 10 AM to 5 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday through Sunday. The museum is closed on Wednesday. Free English language guided tours offer more context for the medieval art and architecture.
