Evening Strolls Along the Water and Through Parkland
Stretch your legs around a former military compound and grounds designed by Olmsted. The terminal can be tricky to navigate on weekends. Wide lanes and cycling loops give the park a focus on casual exercise.
Brooklyn Outdoor Stops
Architecture at Dusk
Brooklyn Army Terminal occupies 59 acres along the waterfront. The address is 140 58th Street. Manufacturing, climate technology and food production now share this former military compound. The complex is open 24 hours a day, with free public entry. A pier terminal and sweeping views give an evening visit its outdoor focus. Finding your way across the sprawling campus can be tricky on weekends. There is plenty of parking.

Room for a Later Stroll
Wide walkable lanes spread through Prospect Park, giving an evening outing a focus on green space. Cycling loops offer another way to exercise across the grounds. The park opens at 6:00 AM daily and stays open until 1:00 AM the following morning. Plan the end of a late walk around that closing time. Olmsted designed the grounds, which include a historic boathouse housing the Audubon Center.

Two Ways to Read the Borough
Brooklyn Army Terminal frames outdoor space through industrial architecture, a working campus and sweeping waterfront views. Prospect Park offers a different setting, with expansive greenery, wide walkable lanes and a historic boathouse. The pairing contrasts built heritage with green space, a former military compound now used for manufacturing and a park designed by Olmsted. Each gives Brooklyn's outdoor landscape a distinct focus, whether the interest lies in structures along the water or open grounds laid out for walking and cycling.
