Enter the Tropics, Stay After Dark
A two hour to three hour indoor route for friends who want tropical styling, strong pours, and a late finish without weather planning. Start around 5:00 PM, keep spending mid priced, and expect compact rooms with different energy.
Follow the indoor island chain
Begin with tropical heat
At Tiki Chick, tropical decor, frozen drinks, and a covered climate controlled patio turn a Manhattan bar into a compact indoor escape. The kitchen adds five dollar chicken sandwiches, while the menu also carries nonalcoholic and low alcohol choices. Arrive with a small group, since the room tightens at peak times. Friday and Saturday doors open at noon and run until 2:00 AM, giving this stop the broadest late window.

Keep the room compact
Shaka Shaka Tiki keeps its small Brooklyn room focused on tropical drinks, popcorn, and a compact bar that feels more like a lounge than a restaurant. The menu is approachable for a lower cost stop, while the staff can steer a first visit through the varied drink list. Seating is limited, so use it as a short reset between longer hangs. The bar opens daily at 4:00 PM and closes at midnight.

Finish with a time warp
Otto's Shrunken Head leans into a Polynesian setting with collectible mugs, themed nights, and a long running East Village identity. Its drinks and live events make the room the most theatrical stop in this route, while the compact footprint rewards arriving before the music builds. The bar works well as a later finish after the earlier rooms. Monday is the sole weekly closure, leaving six nights for a final round.
