Description

Completed in 2000, this Embassy Row landmark was designed by Piero Sartogo, Nathalie Grenon, and Susanna Nobili. Its quadrangular plan is split by a diagonal cut, a layout inspired by Pierre Charles L'Enfant's original plan for Washington. Beyond the architectural geometry, the interior contains an auditorium and a collection featuring Greco-Roman archaeological artifacts alongside 17th and 18th-century paintings. The building serves as a venue for lectures on Italian culture and musical performances, which occasionally spill out onto the surrounding green space during larger events.
