Description

A group of formerly enslaved leaders led by Reverend Jack Yates purchased the land in 1872. Modern renovations have since updated the historic grounds, incorporating playgrounds, sports facilities, and water features alongside the central community center. The park maintains a clean, welcoming environment that continues to serve as an active setting for community events and family gatherings.
