Jose Gonzalez Sr. established the restaurant alongside his wife Alma and son Jose Jr., building the menu around traditional recipes passed down from Alma’s mother, Maria Jasso. More than forty years later, the Gonzalez household still runs the landmark space, preserving the generational cooking that started it.
