Église Saint-Sulpice

Behind its 17th-century classical facade, Saint-Sulpice opens into a vast interior of high ceilings and stone columns, keeping a calm, unhurried pace compared to other central Paris landmarks. In the chapel directly right of the entrance, Delacroix's *Jacob Wrestling with the Angel* commands the space alongside his other chapel frescoes. Across the nave, an 18th-century astronomical brass meridian line cuts through the stone floor, while a monumental historic pipe organ crowns the upper rear gallery.
