Description

Protected since 1968 through efforts by the Preservation of Camelback Mountain Foundation, the area preserves native Sonoran Desert life, including barrel and prickly pear cacti, palo verde trees, lizards, and cottontail rabbits. The trailhead offers essential amenities—restrooms, benches, potable water, and a shade canopy. Beyond the base, the trek is an explicitly strenuous climb contending with steep pitches and high desert temperatures, offset by widely celebrated, rewarding views.
