Echo Bridge
4.7 (163)attraction
A 19th-century stone arch bridge over the Charles River, known for scenic gorge views and a remarkably clear echo.
Description

Built in 1877 as part of the Sudbury aqueduct system, the bridge links Newton and Needham across granite arches that rise roughly 80 feet above the river. A pedestrian top deck provides a walking crossing that connects directly into the trails of Hemlock Gorge Reservation, with visitors testing the acoustic effect by speaking or shouting toward the gorge.
