Doughnut Plant, Where the Walk Begins

Doughnut Plant dates to 1994. Founder Mark Isreal started making doughnuts from his grandfather's recipe in a Lower East Side basement and delivered them by bicycle to coffee shops. The company credits itself with the first crème brûlée doughnut and the square filled doughnut.

The tour's first tasting is at its Williamsburg shop, on Bedford Avenue at North 6th Street. Every doughnut there is certified kosher. The menu also carries vegan doughnuts and gluten-free cake doughnuts. The shop keeps 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM hours every day.

Two Middle Stops the Operator Keeps Unnamed

The operator names only the first and last shops and saves the two in between for the day. Guests who posted about the walk in 2025 named Black Star Bakery, a café on Driggs Avenue in Williamsburg, and Moe's Doughs in Greenpoint. The booking page describes one middle stop as a quintessential mom and pop donut shop. The lineup can change from one season to the next.

Between the Williamsburg and Greenpoint stops, the route crosses McCarren Park. The whole tour covers about a mile on foot, with the tastings breaking it up.

Peter Pan, the Greenpoint Finish

Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop has served Greenpoint from the 1950s on. Owner Christos Siafakas has worked as a baker in New York City doughnut shops and bakeries from the early 1970s. Christos and Donna's sons, along with Donna's sister, bake and serve at the shop. Most of what sits in the cases comes from the shop's original recipes, with a few additions of Christos's own.

The last tasting happens here. The shop opens at 4:30 AM Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM on Saturday and 5:30 AM on Sunday, and closes at 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM depending on the day.

Timing, Walking and What to Tell the Guide

Look for the guide both inside and outside Doughnut Plant. The group waits until 10 minutes after the start time and then sets off. Running later than that, call the operator at 844-366-8848 to meet the group at the second stop.

The walk is outdoors. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Tell the operator about any food allergies ahead of the day. Children 1 to 10 book at the child rate, and the operator calls the walk family-friendly. The booking page does not recommend it for travelers with serious mobility issues.

Cancel at least 24 hours before the start time for a full refund.

The tour does not loop back. It ends at Peter Pan, near the Nassau Avenue train stop, and the operator says most of its routes can be walked end to end in about 30 minutes.

📍 The tour starts at Doughnut Plant, 198 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, at North 6th Street.
