Eastbank Esplanade
4.4 (347)park
A Willamette riverfront path featuring a 1,200-foot floating walkway that gives the sensation of walking on water.
Description

Stretching 1.5 miles north from the Hawthorne Bridge past the Morrison and Burnside bridges, the Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade links eastside neighborhoods to Governor Tom McCall Waterfront Park across the river. Along the Mayer/Reed-designed path, 13 urban markers align with the eastside street grid to present interpretive panels detailing local history. The route also incorporates four public art pieces by RIGGA and serves as a demonstration project for riverbank restoration and fish habitat.
