Description

Lying between the Washington Channel and the Potomac River, this National Park Service site balances open turf with active community recreation. The grounds feature tennis courts and a public swimming pool alongside expansive green spaces, while visitors regularly highlight the waterside paths for their spring cherry blossoms. At the southern tip at Hains Point, where major waterways meet, the park hosts the giant buried-figure 'Awakening' sculpture set right against the water.
