Eagle Point Overlook
4.2 (13)park
Perched on Terwilliger Boulevard, this quiet viewpoint opens onto expansive views of Mount Hood and Mount Saint Helens.
Description

Looking east, the overlook takes in the Boring volcano landscape of east Portland and Larch Mountain in the Gorge. Once a private homestead on historical Donation Land Claims, the ground has an unusual lineage: John Muir bought ten acres of the property in 1883, followed in 1893 by botanical artist Frederick Andrews Walpole. Acquired by the city in 2013 after years of discussion with the Friends of Terwilliger and dedicated in 2014, the site also features an ongoing native plant garden naturescaping project.
