Description

Before becoming parkland, the site was Portland's first Italian settlement colony and was named in the 1900s for writer and women's suffrage advocate Abigail Scott Duniway. The grounds later gained a dedicated lilac collection with over 225 plants, originally donated by the Portland Garden Club. In 1995, the property became home to the first running track made from recycled rubber incorporating donated athletic shoe soles, an installation overhauled alongside the turf field in 2017 through a partnership with Under Armour.
