Dumpstaphunk Plays Two Halloween Funk Nights at Garcia's
Ivan Neville's New Orleans band turns Halloween into a two-night stand: a Meters-and-Sly lineage set on Saturday, its own catalog on Sunday.
🎸 Dumpstaween, Two Different Sets
🎃 Generations of Phunk
Halloween night carries the concept. Dumpstaphunk bills Oct 31 as Generations of Phunk, the centerpiece of the returning Dumpstaween run, a show inspired by The Meters, Sly & The Family Stone and Tower of Power. The 8 PM show opens with Lost Pyramids, then Dumpstaphunk. Doors 7 PM, 21 and over.
🎺 The OG Dumpstaphunk Set
Sunday night plays the catalog. Nov 1 is billed as an OG Dumpstaphunk set, Ivan Neville and the band on their own material, from the 2003 Jazz Fest formation through Live at Tipitina's 2025. Lost Pyramids opens again, doors are 6 PM and the show starts at 7 PM, an hour earlier than Halloween night. 21 and over.
👕 Before You Go
Garcia's has no formal dress code, and nothing about either night requires a costume. General admission is standing room; tables and booths are sold as their own tickets. Ticketmaster lists GA at $48.50 and table seats from $95.30, fees already in the listed price and tax added at checkout; each night is ticketed separately. The room is at 1001 W Washington Blvd, six minutes on foot from the Morgan Pink and Green line stop, with lifts, ramps and priority entry for ADA needs. After the encore, PB&J serves its full menu until 11 PM, then only the pizza counter to 1 AM.
