Dress as a Mushroom and Explore PacSci After Dark on Halloween

Pacific Science Center opens its campus after hours on Sat, Oct 31, 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, for a 21 and over night built on the fungi kingdom. Costumes are the norm, and the suggested look is mushroom caps, moss and forest creatures. The bar carries the theme further: a Forager's Old Fashioned washed with brown butter and mixed mushrooms, a Bee's Knees on mushroom honey, a candy cap White Russian, and cider cut with ginger-shiitake syrup, plus three alcohol-free pours. Seattle Naturalists and AgroForestry give the mycology talks, and the craft tables turn out mushroom stamp cards to take home.

Tarot readings are free from The Primal Mystic and Attune Sound Therapy, Sunny Doodles draws you as a mushroom, and Hexagon Misfit runs video art across the room. Sazon Seattle sends DJs La Mala Noche and Papito Peace to work the floor, and the Thriller flash mob forms at 9:30 PM, with the choreography posted online beforehand. Karaoke is listed 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM in the Laser Dome, sign-up to sing over a live laser show. PacSci posts the night as 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, so the karaoke listing carries the latest time on the official schedule and runs half an hour past the stated close.

Tickets are 45 dollars general, 35 for members and 25 for Igniters; buying two makes the third half price at checkout. Come in at the North Entrance near the Armory and the Mural Amphitheater, because the Denny Way south entrance is closed. Seattle Center runs the garages, not PacSci, and rates follow demand: event nights land between 20 and 45 dollars. Gorillaz plays Climate Pledge Arena the same night, so plan to arrive early and get there by 6:30 PM, or ride the Monorail from Westlake, about two minutes and running until midnight. The Planetarium is dark for the night, the food trucks are Flair Taco and Thai U Up, and Sarajevo Nightclub opens its 21 and over party at 10 PM.
