Description

Designed in 1985 by Campbell and Campbell, the park centers on a paved plaza aligned with Ocean Park Boulevard, framed by a double alley of palms and rows of bollards. The corridor is bookended by Michele Oka Doner’s “Wave and Shell Obelisks” and Joyce Kohl’s “Ocean Park Seque”. Around the central walkway, the grounds include rows of picnic tables, a children’s playground, and restrooms along the beach side of Barnard Way. Dedicated in 2010 in honor of environmentalist Dorothy Green, the space originally operated as Beach Park #1.
