Two Neighborhood Tables
Buenos Aires in Lincoln Square
Artango Bar & Steakhouse pairs Argentine cooking with South American wines. Handmade empanadas can open a meal with friends, followed by grilled octopus or lamb. Dark leather banquettes line the dining room beneath warm lighting. The restaurant offers live music, dance shows, and tango classes. Check the current program before planning around a particular performance. Use the restaurant's website to request a reservation. Find it on North Lincoln Avenue in Chicago.

Rotisserie on North Western Avenue
Oliver and Nicolas Poilevey run Chez Poulet, where all food comes in to-go containers. Pasture-raised Ivory Amish chickens turn in an Old Hickory rotisserie. Order at the counter, then take your meal home or eat on the small patio. Bread from Mindy's Bakery can round out the chicken. The wine list is entirely French. Doors open at 4:00 PM Tuesday through Friday and noon on weekends. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.

Two Ways to Gather
Artango Bar & Steakhouse in Lincoln Square pairs Argentine cooking with South American wines and offers live music, dance shows, and tango classes. Chez Poulet in Bucktown puts French rotisserie chicken at the center of a counter-service meal, with carryout containers and a small patio. Their common thread is regional cooking with wine, but the gathering takes a different shape at each, a dining room with performance offerings at Artango, and a casual chicken spread at Chez Poulet.
