Description

Protected under San Diego County's conservation program, the 175-acre expanse of chaparral and scrub shelters an array of sensitive wildlife. A moderate 565-foot ascent navigates brush that serves as crucial territory for the threatened California Gnatcatcher alongside resident Bewick's wrens. Migrating white-crowned and rufous-crowned sparrows frequently move through the slopes, while kestrels and Cooper's hawks can be seen circling the hill.
