Beyond the torii gate, the quiet grounds carry the scent of the mountain and the sound of the nearby river. The shrine’s giant rock survived repeated natural disasters, drawing steady crowds during entrance exam season. Visitors can climb the stairs on the right to inspect the boulder up close, taking in its sheer scale. Year-round traditions include Motoyoshi Hoin Kagura performances in spring and the winter dedication of a giant ring woven from Kitakami River reeds. Shrine staff provide both handwritten and pre-printed goshuin stamps.
