Set inside an ancient volcanic crater, this trailhead hub offers wildlife displays and prep for the iconic ridge hike.
Description

Renovated with Pacific Historic Parks to handle upwards of 3,000 daily visitors, the kiosk acts as an interpretive anchor across the 475-acre monument. Exhibits trace how settled ash from a single eruption hardened into the crater's visible volcanic tuff, while chronicling local military history and bird species introduced in the late 1800s. A dedicated wildlife installation was developed in partnership with Waikīkī Elementary School, while the counter stocks official park memorabilia.
