🌼 Marigolds, Crafts, and a Parade

From October 3 to November 2, 2026, NYBG presents Día de los Muertos, a Mexican celebration of memory and renewal. Visitors see marigolds, calaveras, a giant Catrina, and a community ofrenda.

Activities center on Everett Children's Adventure Garden. Selected October weekends feature silk flower and papel picado crafts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., plus Son Pecadores folk music. Family programs run 1:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and Monday holidays.

The main event is the November 1 parade, with crafts at 1 p.m., procession at 2 p.m., folk dance at 2:30 p.m., cumbia class at 3:15 p.m., and dancing from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Bad weather cancels only the procession.

Entry comes with the All-Garden Pass, at 35 dollars weekdays and 39 weekends for adults, 31 and 35 for seniors and students, and 15 and 17 for children. Metro-North reaches Botanical Garden Station about 20 minutes from Grand Central, and the B, D, 4, and 2 trains serve the garden. 2026 station renovations add 10 to 15 minutes.
