Des Moines Creek Trail

Starting just south of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the route maintains a gradual 3 to 5 percent downhill slope across its two miles toward Puget Sound. The surface runs smoothly enough for inline skaters and runners to hold a steady pace under the trees without sudden acceleration. Alongside the main paved corridor, dirt offshoots weave into a network of mountain biking trails through the park. At the southern finish, the tree cover gives way to a long pier over the water, where cyclists can link to shared-road routes continuing toward Saltwater State Park.
