Gates open from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The 35th season brings back displays from the Wild Lights era, alongside theme nights including GOTHMAS on December 8 and 9, Dickens nights December 14 to 16, and Summer in December from December 28 to 30. 🧣 Museum First, Then the Lights

Pair the evening with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science at 2001 Colorado Boulevard. Visit the museum first during its regular daytime hours—open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and until 9 p.m. on most Fridays—then book a Zoo Lights entry session starting at or after 4:30 p.m. Walking between the museum and the zoo's south gate on Steele Street takes approximately 12 minutes (about 0.6 miles) through City Park. For families, the zoo's $28.65 to $44.95 bundle includes admission, a souvenir cup of hot cocoa, and two ride vouchers for the railroad and carousel.
