Description
The grounds sit where the wartime city of Vanport once stood before being destroyed by a 1948 flood. Today, the site operates as Portland’s largest municipal sports complex, laid out with soccer and softball fields, synthetic turf, volleyball courts, playgrounds, and paved paths. Since 1970, the park has also served as home to the Delta Park Powwow and Encampment, the longest-running powwow west of the Mississippi River.
