Deer Island Pier
4.8 (28)park
Set along the paved Harborwalk loop, this coastal fishing pier offers sweeping views across Boston Harbor.
Description

Reached about a quarter mile down the Harborwalk, the pier belongs to a peninsula park connected to the mainland by landfill in the early 1940s, where shoreline access shares space with a wastewater treatment plant. Shoreline fishing also extends beyond the pier to surrounding coves and southern jetties. For getting around, the grounds provide two handicap-accessible paved trails: the perimeter Harborwalk and the Hillside Trail, which leads up to a northern viewpoint.
