This Black-owned spot in Downtown Glendale centers on personal hospitality from owner Davina and a hearty spread of homestyle meats and sides. Orders can be built family-style or by the plate, featuring everything from tender rib tips to bone-deep smoked chicken and fish fried in light cornmeal. Scratch-made accompaniments flesh out each tray with baked beans, mac and cheese, and greens cooked with turkey, balanced by sweet muffins and cups of watermelon Kool-Aid.
