David DeJesus and the Boptet - Celebrating Charlie Parker

Led by saxophonist and educator David DeJesus, the Boptet includes Brandon Lee on trumpet, Donald Vega on piano, Ricardo Rodriguez on bass, and David Alvarez on drums. The performance features selections from their record Lovebird, mixing new arrangements of Charlie Parker's work with original compositions inspired by the saxophonist. The evening also shares the history of Parker, the figure who serves as Birdland's namesake. The event is open to audience members aged 10 and older.
