Dan Ryan Woods

Spanning 257 acres across Chicago's South Side, Dan Ryan Woods balances dense woodland and picnic groves with historic limestone aqueducts. Walkers and cyclists can take a mile-long paved loop that connects to the Major Taylor Trail, while winter brings snowboarders to the elevated slopes. Across the seasons, the preserve provides habitat for a wide array of native plants, animals, and migratory birds.
