Dallas's Dark History, From Union Station to the Grassy Knoll
A one-hour ghost walk past Old Red, the Grassy Knoll and the old book depository, with stories that lean on real Dallas history.
This is a one-hour walk through the west side of downtown Dallas, led by a guide carrying a lantern. The listing puts the distance at about a mile. It meets at Ferris Plaza, the small park with a fountain in front of Union Station.
The stops the listing names include the old Lawrence Hotel on Houston Street, the Old Red Museum, Dealey Plaza, the Grassy Knoll, the old Texas School Book Depository that now holds The Sixth Floor Museum, and the John Neely Bryan Cabin. Every stop on the listing is marked as a pass-by, and the operator says its ghost tours do not go inside buildings.

The booking card below is the listing's only version, a one-hour walking tour priced per person, with one rate for every age. As of October 16, 2026, its calendar showed evening starts between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, and the 7:00 PM slot was already sold out on some late-October dates. One booking takes up to 30 people.
Deadly Dallas Ghost Tours: Blood, Bones, and BurialsOne-hour walking ghost tour from Ferris Plaza in front of Union Station. Full refund if canceled at least 24 hours ahead.www.viator.comThe Stories Start Long Before 1963

Dealey Plaza and the Grassy Knoll are on the route, but the stories reach back well before 1963. The listing says half a dozen people are said to have died in the old Lawrence Hotel, four of them murdered and one a congressman who took his own life. At the Old Red Museum, the former county courthouse, it says many of the deaths tied to the site were executions.
The operator's own tour page says the Grassy Knoll is haunted by three African Americans who were falsely accused and murdered in the 1860s. The listing says the ghost stories at the old book depository also predate the Kennedy assassination.
Expect More History Than Haunting

Recent travelers describe the balance the same way. One in March 2026 wrote that "the sites weren't that spooky, it was more about this history of places and historical murders." A reviewer in April 2026 said only the first two stops were ghost stories and the rest was history, and an August 2026 reviewer hoping for paranormal content said the guide talked more about the Ku Klux Klan, Black history and the Kennedy assassination. Others liked the same mix. A July 2026 traveler "learned a lot about Dallas history."
Book it as a dark-history walk with ghost stories attached. The Adolphus Hotel and the Majestic Theater, which lead the operator's own tour preview, are not among the stops on this listing's map, and a May 2026 reviewer noted the group never went by the Adolphus.
Who Can Manage the Walk
The listing ticks wheelchair and stroller access, but the operator's own FAQ answers that question the other way: most of the tour is not stroller or wheelchair accessible. The listing also asks for at least moderate fitness and does not recommend the walk for people with spinal injuries or poor cardiovascular health. A March 2026 traveler wrote that it "required some walking, a lot of standing, and was right next to the street," and that it may not suit anyone hard of hearing. The operator's advice is to tell the guide or move closer.
Kids can come. The operator says the stories are told with the audience in mind and invites families to bring children, and an August 2026 reviewer who came with a preteen and a teenager said both were "talking about it for hours afterwards." The material still covers murders, executions and racial violence. A booking needs an adult.
The Operator's Rules for the Night
The operator's FAQ sets the ground rules:

- The operator says it does not wait for late arrivals and does not refund guests who miss the start.
- Photos are welcome. Video is not allowed.
- No smoking, and no drinking on the tour. The operator says intoxicated guests will be asked to leave.
- Pets are welcome as long as they do not disrupt the tour.

Food, drinks, transport and tips are not included.
