Dale Street Community Garden

The park welcomes the public to walk through, though individual plots are privately tended and strictly off-limits for picking. One sweet exception hangs overhead: the grapes along the pergola are open to anyone. Governed by a volunteer board in partnership with the City of Alexandria, the grounds pair three sizes of rental beds with space for horticulture education, with plot priority reserved for residents within a half-mile radius.
