Description
Because walking on foot is prohibited to protect the mountain's natural environment, the chairlift serves as the only access to Mt. Omuro's summit. The smooth ride leads to a 1 km loop around the rim of a 300-meter-wide dormant crater, opening onto views that stretch to the Izu Islands on clear days. Inside the crater basin sits an archery range, while the summit area houses Asama Shrine, gift shops offering goshuin stamps, and small cafes at both the upper and lower stations.
