Brooklyn Garden, Culture, Memorial
Beyond the Basic Pot
At 862 Union Street, Urbangreen Gardens creates custom outdoor plant arrangements for Brooklyn properties. Individual pots and full planter installations are shaped around each outdoor space. The studio pairs unusual plant material with tailored containers to create unique garden designs. The firm is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is closed on weekends. Weekday hours are the only operating window.

Year-Round Work, Annual Parade
The West Indian American Day Carnival Association runs educational workshops for youth and adults from 1561 Bedford Avenue. WIADCA Cares extends its community support beyond those programs. The organization also stages a major street celebration with masquerade bands, music, costumes, and food. Visit the office Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend visitors should plan around the weekday schedule.

Open-Air Remembrance
Korean War Veterans Plaza occupies 287 Fulton Street in Brooklyn Heights. Its granite monument honors fallen soldiers, with engraved names that visitors can read while walking the grounds. Green lawns frame the plaza, and abundant benches provide seating for a rest or a wait for a Queens-bound bus. The public site welcomes visitors daily from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM the next day, throughout the week.
