Description

The route officially begins north of Hazelwood Elementary School, stitching together a patchwork of trails and residential sidewalks. Over 2.4 miles, the western half skirts a watertower, passes Hazelwood and Donegal parks, and edges Newcastle Historic Cemetery before reaching Lake Boren Park, where loop paths, picnic shelters, and a fishing pier mark the midpoint. From Coal Creek Parkway, the route briefly follows sidewalks before ascending a wooded ridge slope, leaving Newcastle behind to join the DeLeo Wall Trail in Cougar Mountain Regional Park.
