Creamy Hummus and Light Falafel Near Central Park
Share a hummus sampler and Mediterranean classics at a warm Upper West Side stop close to the park.
🥙 A Sampler Worth Sharing
Start with the hummus platter, the smartest way to taste several varieties before picking a favorite. The mushroom version gets the most love, and the falafel comes out fresh and light. Round out the table with grape leaves, tabouleh, roasted eggplant, and a bowl of carrot ginger soup.
Hummus Place opened in 2004 and remains an Upper West Side fixture, tucked into a small downstairs room on Amsterdam Avenue about ten minutes on foot from Central Park. The menu is certified kosher, mostly vegan, and gluten free, which makes it an easy pick for a mixed table. Turkish coffee and baklava handle dessert.
It is open every day from half past eleven in the morning until 9 PM, for a sit down meal or a quick takeout run of pita and hummus. Share the sampler, add a round of falafel for the table, and save room for something sweet at the end.
