✂️ Friday Night Yap and Craft

🧵 How the Night Works

Yap and Craft runs Friday, October 23, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brooklyn Creative Reuse. It is an open evening for chatting and making, not a costume workshop or a guided class. Bring a project you have not finished, or start one from materials in the store, and settle in at a shared table. Tickets are pay what you wish on Zeffy, and reserving ahead is the easiest way in. The listing does not say whether store materials are free to use during the event or which tools are on hand. Ask the shop before you go.

♻️ A Shop Built on Reuse

Brooklyn Creative Reuse is a nonprofit that keeps art and craft supplies out of the landfill. Its shelves fill with donations, from fabric, yarn and felt to beads, paper, stickers and glitter, and the stock changes from week to week. No specific item is guaranteed. A Halloween costume idea can work here too, as long as it bends around whatever turns up. A swap of ideas across a shared table is part of the point of the night.

🗺️ Finding Space C244

The shop sits in Space C244 on the second floor of Building 2 at 254 36th Street in Industry City. No appointment is needed on regular days, and the shop is open Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The D, N and R trains stop at 36th Street, a few blocks east. Industry City has food halls for dinner after the session.
