Description

Installed near the Curry Street overlook, artist Buster Simpson's piece integrates uprooted trees into the reconstructed shoreline. One-and-a-half-ton anthropomorphic concrete anchors hold them securely within the floodplain landscape, letting the timber provide biomass for habitat enhancement. Simpson designed the work to acknowledge the dynamic forces of the river, climate, and human interaction shaping the riverbank.
