Cowboys Battle Undead Pirates at a Tucson Halloween Stunt Show
Sword fights, cannon fire and high falls on Trail Dust Town's Western set, four nights a week until November 1.
Each Halloween season the Pistoleros trade their regular Wild West show for a seasonal one, and this year's show sets the cowboys against pirates. The operator describes sword fights, cannon fire and a ghost pirate ship as Sam and Latch take on Cap'n Cutthroat and his undead crew.
The troupe rotates three Halloween shows from year to year, and The Curse of Captain Cutthroat is the one on the bill until November 1. The regular Wild West show comes back on November 5, and this booking does not cover it.

Shows start at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 7:00 PM on Thursdays and Sundays. Thursday is the discount night. As of October 23, 2026, the booking calendar showed seats on every remaining date: October 23, 24, 25, 29, 30 and 31, and November 1.
The Curse of Captain Cutthroat! (Pistoleros Halloween Show)A half-hour outdoor Halloween stunt show at Trail Dust Town in Tucson, with priority seating and a bottled water or soda included.www.viator.comSword Fights, Cannon Fire and a Ghost Pirate Ship

The operator bills it as half an hour of high falls, fight scenes and fiery explosion effects, played as slapstick comedy. A visitor writing in late September counted a four-person cast and listed sword fights, gunshots and cannon blasts, with some back-and-forth with the audience. Another wrote of second-story falls and "tons of comedic action."
The operator rates the show PG. The simulated gunfire and explosions are loud, so the show is not recommended for children 3 and under.
Outdoor Bleachers in a Western Theme Town

The show plays outdoors on the troupe's Western street set in Trail Dust Town, with bleacher seating and wheelchair access, per the operator. Severe weather can cancel a show.
Trail Dust Town is free to walk into, and its attractions charge separately. The town is open all day, while its rides, shops and steakhouse open in the evening, each on its own seasonal hours. The operator names gift shops, old-time photos, train rides, a carousel, a Ferris wheel, a candy shop and the Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse.
A Family Troupe That Restarted Its Own Show
Jerry Woods created the show at Trail Dust Town in 1997. In March 2020 the pandemic led the parent company to close it, and Jerry and his wife Heather formed their own company to keep it running, leasing the set from Trail Dust Town.
By the operator's account, Jerry still writes, directs, produces and appears in the shows every week with his wife and two sons. Several reviewers mention the family behind the show, and one summed up the tone as "Super corny but also super fun."
